a16z Crypto Accelerator

Description

The a16z Crypto Accelerator is an early-stage startup program run by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) focused specifically on blockchain and crypto-native ventures. Designed to help founders build category-defining products at the cutting edge of Web3, DeFi, NFTs, infrastructure, and crypto-enabled financial services, the accelerator provides access to deep mentorship from seasoned operators, domain experts, and core members of the a16z Crypto network. Participating teams receive tailored support on product strategy, token design, community growth, go-to-market approaches, fundraising readiness, and regulatory considerations. While not a traditional cohort format like some accelerators, the program includes focused engagement opportunities, curated office hours, and ecosystem introductions, with investment potential aligned to a16z’s early-stage crypto deal structure when terms are agreed. The experience is typically remote-first with optional in-person gatherings at major Web3 hubs such as San Francisco or Miami.

Eligibility

The a16z Crypto Accelerator is best suited for founders who: Are building crypto-native or Web3 startups, including but not limited to blockchain infrastructure, decentralized finance (DeFi), NFTs & digital ownership platforms, layer-1 & layer-2 tooling, or token-enabled ecosystems. Are at an early stage (pre-seed to seed) with an MVP, prototype, or clear product direction that demonstrates technical merit and market opportunity within the crypto/Web3 landscape. Want deep specialization in crypto domain strategy, token economics, community-led growth, and regulatory navigation. Are ready to engage actively with expert mentors, ecosystem partners, and potential backers through an intensive remote + hybrid participation model. Are interested in strategic introductions and investor support that align with a16z Crypto’s investment philosophy and network advantages. Founders from around the world can apply, but participation in key in-person sessions or ecosystem events (often in the U.S.) may be expected for maximum impact.
