a16z speedrun
Description
a16z Speedrun is an intensive, founder-focused startup program created by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) that helps early-stage companies accelerate key milestones with tailored support from a world-class network of operators, experts, and investors. Operating as a hybrid remote + in-person experience, Speedrun offers structured guidance on product strategy, growth, hiring, fundraising preparation, and go-to-market execution over a focused time period. Participating founders receive deep access to a16z’s operator ecosystem, exclusive briefings, expert office hours, and targeted workshops that are designed to unlock momentum quickly. Though not a traditional accelerator with a fixed cohort schedule, Speedrun investments typically involve pre-seed or seed-stage capital and partnership terms aligned with a16z’s standard early-stage deal structures when a16z chooses to invest. The program includes optional in-person convenings in major startup hubs and invites founders from around the world to participate.
Eligibility
a16z Speedrun is best suited for founders who: - Are building scalable technology companies, especially with product, market, or category-defining ambition at the early or early-seed stage. -Have an existing MVP or early traction, including user engagement, revenue signals, or demonstrable product progress. -Are prepared to engage with intensive mentorship and strategic guidance that targets acceleration of core metrics and investor readiness. -Are comfortable with a hybrid experience — combining focused remote support with selective in-person sessions or retreats in major startup hubs (e.g., Silicon Valley, NYC). -Are interested in high-network access and building deep relationships with operational leaders, domain experts, and potential investors. a16z Speedrun does not operate like a large cohort accelerator; it’s selective, network-driven, and oriented toward high-impact founder + investor collaboration.
