Description
The 16VC Accelerator is a new 3-month, in-person accelerator for pre-seed and seed startups building in AI, enterprise software, fintech, deep tech and emerging technology. Around 20–25 companies will be selected across San Francisco, New York and London. Each selected company receives US$200,000 through a post-money SAFE targeting approximately 6% ownership, with no program fee. Founders receive workspace, a local Entrepreneur in Residence, and hands-on support across customers, distribution, product, hiring, partnerships and fundraising. The inaugural cohort starts 11 January 2027, with applications closing 4 October 2026
Eligibility
- Primarily for pre-seed and seed-stage companies; founders can be very early or already have product, customers or revenue. - Focus areas are AI/ML, enterprise software, fintech, deep tech and emerging technology, although 16VC says it will consider companies outside those categories. - Solo founders can apply, and previous institutional funding is not required. - Australian founders can apply if willing and able to relocate for the program; US or UK residency is not stated as a requirement. - Founders must participate on-site in San Francisco, New York or London. It is not a remote program. - Visa/immigration assistance may be available for selected founders, but 16VC does not guarantee it.

Fit notes
Good fit if
- Australian pre-seed or seed founders willing to spend three months in the US or UK.
- AI, enterprise software, fintech or deep-tech startups seeking their first institutional capital.
- Founders who value hands-on help with customers, distribution and fundraising.
Probably skip if
- Australian founders who cannot relocate to San Francisco, New York or London.
- Founders looking for a remote accelerator.
Why it matters
The $200K investment, small 20–25 company cohort, physical workspace and hands-on support make the offer substantive. However, this is 16VC's first accelerator cohort, so it does not yet have accelerator-specific alumni outcomes or a demonstrated track record comparable with established programs. That keeps the opportunity at medium signal despite attractive headline terms.
